Terms of Service
Last updated: September 19, 2026
Use Granteon lawfully and honestly. Your organization's content stays yours; we only process it to run the Service. Drafts are there to help you think and write, not to be submitted as-is. You are responsible for knowing and following each funder's rules, including any limits on the use of AI. Always review output before anything goes to a funder, and never treat a match or a draft as a promise of funding. Either of us can end the relationship at any time.
Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Granteon (“Granteon,” “we,” “us”) covering your access to and use of the Granteon website and web application (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you accept these Terms. If you are using Granteon on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization, and “you” means both you and that organization.
Our Privacy Policy is part of these Terms.
Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. You agree to provide accurate account information and to keep it current. You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for all activity under your account, including anything your colleagues do in your workspace. Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access.
What the Service does
Granteon lets you describe your organization's programs, build a library from your past grant work, browse matched funding opportunities across a range of fit, from close matches to intentionally unconventional ones, and draft proposals section by section.
The Service is under active development. We may add, change, or remove features, and we may impose usage limits, at any time. We will try to give reasonable notice of changes that materially reduce functionality you rely on.
Generated output — read this one
The drafting tool generates text automatically. Generated output can be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, generic, or plainly wrong, and it may not satisfy a particular funder's format, eligibility, or certification requirements.
- You must review everything. You are solely responsible for verifying every fact, figure, budget line, and claim before submitting a proposal. Never submit generated text unreviewed.
- No guarantee of funding. Grant matches, fit scores, and drafts are suggestions. We make no promise that you are eligible for any opportunity, that a listed opportunity is open or accurate, or that you will be awarded anything.
- Not professional advice. Nothing the Service produces is legal, tax, accounting, or financial advice. Consult a qualified professional where that matters.
- Output is not unique. Similar prompts may produce similar text for other users. We make no representation that output is original or free of third-party rights.
Funder rules and AI-use policies
Every funder sets its own rules, and some restrict or forbid the use of AI tools in an application. Granteon does not know those rules for you and does not follow them on your behalf.
- Drafts are for your thinking, not for direct submission. Generated drafts are a starting point for your own thinking and writing. They are not intended to be submitted to a funder directly, in whole or in part, as your organization's own work.
- You must know the rules.Before you apply, it is your job to read and understand each funder's guidelines, eligibility criteria, formatting requirements, certifications, and any policy on AI tools. Some funders prohibit AI-generated content outright; others require that its use be disclosed.
- You are responsible for compliance. Do not use generated output where a funder prohibits it, and make any disclosure a funder requires. Any certification of authorship, originality, or accuracy you make to a funder is yours alone.
- We do not monitor funder rules. Granteon does not read, track, warn you about, or enforce any funder's rules. A grant match, a fit score, or a draft is not a statement that AI use is permitted for that opportunity.
- The consequences are yours.Rejection, disqualification, repayment or clawback of an award, loss of eligibility, or reputational harm resulting from a breach of a funder's rules is your responsibility, not Granteon's.
Your content
You keep all rights to the organization information, uploads, and drafts you put into Granteon (“Your Content”). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, transmit, and display Your Content solely to operate and provide the Service to you — which includes sending the relevant parts of it to our drafting provider so a draft can be generated. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for content retained in routine backups until they cycle out.
You represent that you own or have the rights to Your Content and that it does not infringe anyone's rights or violate any law. We do not use Your Content to train our own models.
Our intellectual property
The Service — including its software, design, interface, copy, and brand — is owned by us and protected by intellectual property law. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for your organization's internal purposes. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for anything unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, or infringing;
- misrepresent your organization, its programs, its finances, or its track record to a funder (the drafting tool helps you write, not fabricate);
- use generated output in an application whose rules forbid it, or without a disclosure the funder requires;
- upload content you lack the rights to, or that contains malware;
- probe, scan, or circumvent our security, rate limits, or access controls;
- scrape, crawl, or bulk-extract data from the Service, or use it to build a competing product;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive our source code or prompts;
- resell, sublicense, or share access to the Service outside your organization; or
- interfere with the Service's operation or another user's use of it.
We may investigate suspected violations and suspend or terminate access in response.
Third-party services
The Service depends on third-party infrastructure and drafting providers, and it links to funder websites and application portals we do not control. Your use of those services is governed by their terms, and we are not responsible for their content, availability, accuracy, or practices.
Fees
New accounts start with a free trial. After the trial ends, continued use requires a paid plan; we will give you notice before any charge applies to your account, and you may decline by discontinuing use. Fees, billing cycles, renewal, and refund terms are set out in our published pricing and apply from the date you subscribe. You are responsible for any applicable taxes.
Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if your use creates risk or legal exposure, or if we discontinue the Service. On termination, your license to use the Service ends and we may delete Your Content after a reasonable period. The generated output, funder rules, your content, our intellectual property, acceptable use, third-party services, warranty, liability, indemnification, and governing law sections survive termination.
Disclaimer of warranties
The Service and all output are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, or accuracy. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any output will be correct, complete, or suitable for submission to a funder.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Granteon will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any lost profits, lost grant funding, disqualification, rejection, or repayment of any grant, lost opportunities, lost data, or business interruption, arising out of or related to the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total aggregate liability arising out of or related to the Service will not exceed the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Granteon and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, liabilities, and reasonable legal fees arising out of Your Content, your use of the Service, your submissions to funders, your breach of any funder's rules, guidelines, or certifications (including restrictions on, or disclosure requirements for, AI-generated content), or your breach of these Terms.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You and Granteon agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in King County, Washington, and each of us waives any objection to venue there.
Before filing anything, please contact us at [email protected]. Most disputes can be resolved informally.
Changes to these Terms
We may revise these Terms as the Service evolves. We will update the date at the top of this page and, for material changes, give notice in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use Granteon afterward means you accept the revised Terms; if you don't agree, stop using the Service and delete your account.
Miscellaneous
If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between us regarding the Service.
